A wonderful series of photographs by Hans Van Der Meer documenting amateur football pitches in a book called ‘European Fields: The Landscape of Lower League Football’

As it turns out, Hans was the photographer of KesselsKramers ‘Other Final‘ – an inverted world cup final between FIFAs lowest ranked teams, for which I designed the trophy.
I’ll also highlight this old piece I made: a creation myth for football pitches which argues that football is a form of abstracted urbanism. (watch out for the dodgy navigation though – apologies for that)

There are also these photographs taken of goals appearing to mutate into clusters of dysfunctional sport objects.
